1. Do you hear anything when it is powered on? Like the jump noise but only for a split second.

2. Check and verify all plugs are plugged in correctly to the board. You can use some of the pics for reference, and I can also email you how mine are connected.

3. Are you using a 2-board or 4-board version for the main board?

4. When was the last time it worked? Can you give me some more details about it?

Thanks,
Gregg

Hi,

Thanks for this, but I couldn't get it working. I'm using Tomato 1.27 on an Asus RT-N16.

When I execute the curl command from the script file manually, I get

curl: (35) error:1408F10B:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_RECORD:wrong version number

Do you know what's wrong? I enabled both http and https in tomato. I'm also aware of the python version and got this error:

IOError: [Errno socket error] [Errno 1] _ssl.c:499: error:14077417:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert illegal parameter

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Gregg,

I work for a rural hospital/clinic and we are considering an asterisk-based phone system, and we could benefit greatly from a script like this. Would you be interested in providing your services?

Hi, cool script. I've modified the version a little bit to avoid problems when the master has been phisically disconnected (the slave takes over, that's OK). After reconnection the master still has the floating IP address, as does the slave.

To overcome this problem I added the following function:
#
# checkCarrier checks if eth channel is phiscally connected
# if carrier is down, script will return false (1)
#
function checkCarrier {
    DEVICE=$1
    UP=`grep "" /sys/class/net/$DEVICE/carrier`
    if [ $UP -eq 1 ]; then
        return 0
    else
        return 1
    fi
}

And in the checkStatus function I do this;
	checkCarrier $DEVICE
	CARRIER=$?
	if [ "$CARRIER" -eq 0 ] ; then
# execute the normal flow of checking
	else
		# Carrier is disconnected, NO LAN available
		if [ "$STATUS" == "open|filtered" ] ; then  ###is local asterisk up
			if [ "$PRIMARYIP" == "$FLOAT" ] ; then  ###does primary not own virtual ip?
				# Master was lost, slave has taken over
				# Master MUST loose the floating IP adres now else we will have 2 machines with same IP after reconnect
				logit "Master got disconnected, taking interface down."
				services stop
				ifconfig $IFACE down
				services start
			fi
		fi
	fi

Hope this helps.

Your script is great. I am new to Asterisk and Linux in general so I am stumbling through everything. I do have one question.

We are Device and User mode. What happens to the Logged in Users if the Primary server fails and the Secondary server automatically goes online? Will the users have to login to their phones again to make and receive phone calls?
